Only one phone or laptop won’t connect—why?
If other devices work, the broadband and router are probably live; forget and rejoin the network, verify password, update/restart the device and check it is not paused or blocked.
Device MAC/private MAC, IP assignment, saved SSID, pause/block state.
Escalate to device maker if it fails on another known-good network.

On a managed Wi-Fi plan
Identify the client in eero/HomePass/CommandIQ and inspect association, band and policy.
On another provider's router
Use that ISP’s device list/hub manager; wording and controls differ.
What to be careful of
Do not factory-reset the router for a single-client fault.
