How we test & rank

WiFiXpert publishes the rules behind every score so households, manufacturers and broadband providers can all check our work.

Published criteria

Every score is made of named parts with published weights. Anyone can add the parts up.

Evidence first

Manufacturer documentation, official notices and provider terms outrank reviews and forum posts.

Dated and retained

We record the source and the date we checked it, and we keep the evidence.

Confidence is shown

Where evidence is thin, we say so rather than guessing a number.

Versioned methodology

Changes to how we score are versioned and reviewed, not applied quietly.

Independent of money

Affiliate commission, advertising and partnerships have no effect on any score.
