Amazon Fire TV Stick + Sky Broadband Hub
Works, with a couple of settings to get right

A Amazon Fire TV Stick does work on a Sky Broadband Hub, but a couple of the router's default settings cause most of the complaints we see. Fix those first and it settles down.
What it looks like when it goes wrong
- Occasional drop-outs after a power cut or a router restart.
Do these, in this order

Restart the router, wait two minutes, then restart the gadget.

Use the HDMI extension cable in the box so the stick isn't buried behind the screen.

Check the signal strength in the stick's own network settings.
Settings we'd recommend on the Sky Broadband Hub
- • Turn Sky Broadband Shield off temporarily if a gadget can't finish set-up.
- • Restart the hub, then the gadget — in that order, a couple of minutes apart.
Good to know about this router: Very few settings are exposed, so there is little to change when something misbehaves. Sky Broadband Shield can block set-up pages and some device services.
If none of that works
- Leave the provider's hub doing the broadband and add your own Wi-Fi on top of it — that gives you the settings this hub hides.
- If the gadget only ever sits in one spot, a wired connection is always the most reliable answer.
