Amazon Fire TV Stick + EE Smart Hub Plus
Works, with a couple of settings to get right

A Amazon Fire TV Stick does work on a EE Smart Hub Plus, but a couple of the router's default settings cause most of the complaints we see. Fix those first and it settles down.
What it looks like when it goes wrong
- Occasional drop-outs after a power cut or a router restart.
Do these, in this order

Restart the router, wait two minutes, then restart the gadget.

Use the HDMI extension cable in the box so the stick isn't buried behind the screen.

Check the signal strength in the stick's own network settings.
Settings we'd recommend on the EE Smart Hub Plus
- • If a gadget refuses to join, ask EE support to set the hub's security to the mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode.
- • Keep any EE extender at least a room away from the hub, not next to it.
Good to know about this router: Newer EE hubs push modern security by default, which trips up some older smart-home kit. Works with EE's own Wi-Fi extenders, which create additional hand-off points.
If none of that works
- Leave the provider's hub doing the broadband and add your own Wi-Fi on top of it — that gives you the settings this hub hides.
- If the gadget only ever sits in one spot, a wired connection is always the most reliable answer.
