Does Sonos work well with TP-Link Deco?

It can — but Deco needs two settings checked before Sonos behaves. First, keep the speakers on the main Deco network, not the guest one. Second, if speakers keep disappearing, look for Deco's 'AP isolation' and any fast-roaming options and turn them off for the speakers — both can break the constant background contact Sonos relies on.

What to check

Main network, not guest; AP isolation off; fast roaming off if speakers drop; single network name; whether the problem started when Deco replaced the old router.

When to get help from a person

Persistent dropouts after these settings are confirmed deserve a Sonos diagnostic plus a note of the Deco model and firmware — both support teams recognise the combination.

On a managed Wi-Fi plan

In the Deco app, verify each speaker's node and signal, then check isolation and roaming settings per network. If a speaker is wired to a Deco node, confirm spanning-tree behaviour before assuming a fault.

On another provider's router

If Deco runs alongside the provider's hub, disable the hub's Wi-Fi so there's exactly one network in the house. Two parallel Wi-Fi networks is the root of most 'Sonos vanished after upgrade' reports.

What to be careful of

Deco firmware updates have changed roaming and isolation defaults in the past — if Sonos broke overnight, check whether the Deco updated itself that night before changing anything else.
